The president of the Party of Change Ștefan Gligor said the Executive’s work deserves to be criticized, but in a meeting of extraparliamentary parties with President Maia Sandu, it was agreed to avoid this during the war in Ukraine. Gligor said the parties decided to avoid political confrontations now that the security situation in the region is so tense. However, when the war in Ukraine is over, the inefficiency of the Government’s work should be raised, IPN reports.
The leader of the Party of Change Ștefan Gligor said that in the meeting of President Maia Sandu and leaders of extraparliamentary parties, it was decided to avoiding making the situation in the country tenser. Even if the government deserves to be criticized for the way in which it administers the country, the political confrontations are avoided during the state of emergency.
“In times of war, the internal political agenda is limited. There are many inefficiency topics that should be raised, but we avoid political confrontations during the war and this was the essence of the discussion we had with President Maia Sandu. We agreed to leave the internal contradictions and political confrontations aside during the war so as not to further stir things up. But a month has passed, the war continues and the problems generated by the war need to be addressed. I hope we will find a civilized, calm method to discuss the witnessed deficiencies. After the war, the subject of improvement of the Government’s work will return to the agenda,” Ștefan Gligor stated in the program “The Fourth Estate” on N4 TV channel.
Ștefan Gligor said the lack of a professional team who would manage the multiple crises experienced by Moldova is the biggest problem of the government.
“PAS didn’t learn the lesson of 2019, when power fell over them out of the blue. They had nine ministries and half a year to realize that they weren’t ready to govern. Later, they had two whole years and were to build up a competent team. They were looking for ministers on the last 100 meters. They could hardly find a candidate for minister of agriculture. Out of nine ministries they managed with difficulty in 2019, they created 13 ministries. They founded a ministry for Andrei Spînu, who is a monster minister. The minister of economy was left with only the Consumer Protection Agency,” stated Ștefan Gligor.
On February 25, one day after the start of the war in Ukraine, President Maia Sandu had a meeting with the leaders of the Civic Congress, “Democracy at Home” Party, Party of Development and Unity of Moldova, the Democratic Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, Our Party, the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, the Party of Change, and the Ecologist Green Party. President Sandu asked the party leaders to contribute to uniting society by rejecting and discouraging hate speech and disinformation.
