The leader of the Party of Chance demands to exclude the representatives of the criminal groups Shor and Caramalac from the electoral competition. According to Ștefan Gligor, the illegal financing of the political parties managed by the Shor group is the main instrument for compromising the local elections. “We speak about the Chance Party, the Revival Party and about proper coordination with the Party of Socialist and the involvement of Renato Usatyi and the political party “Our Party” that help these criminal groups to play their dirty games both in Chisinau and in the municipality of Balti, in the north of the Republic of Moldova,” Ștefan Gligor stated in a news conference hosted by IPN.

According to Ștefan Gligor, the Security and Intelligence Service recently drafted a document by which it presented the results of the monitoring of criminal groups’ activities to the Central Election Commission. “Regrettably, the Central Election Commission delays the elimination from the local elections of representatives of organized crime, first of all of the criminal group Shor, which regrouped very quickly. Having access to unlimited illegal financing, of tens of millions of euros, it created a clone party and registered a multitude of candidates who are allegedly independents and who, if candidates of the Chance Party are eliminated, will substitute these,” said the leader of the Party of Change.

Ștefan Gligor said the strategy of the Shor group is different for the north, for the municipality of Chisinau and for the ATU Gagauzia, while the coordination is very efficient. ”The municipality of Balti, where they have seven candidates, is a relevant example. Today there are seven candidates who represent organized crime. First of all, we speak about the Chance Party’s candidate Șapa, who has been guided for months, initially by Tauber, against whom two criminal cases over illegal financing and over the violations committed in the local elections in Balti in November 2021 were started. They held hundreds of meetings with citizens after the court lifted all the bans on campaigning. Șapa has been guided for months as she doesn’t know where the position of Balti on the map is,” said Ștefan Gligor.

He noted that the criminal groups learned the lesson after its candidates were excluded from the electoral competition at the previous elections. Now they provided more candidates. It seems that the responsible bodies do not have the courage to remove them from the election process. The millions of lei seized during the tens of searches are only a small part of the large sums introduced into Moldova at present to corrupt voters.

The leader of the Party of Change also said that the criminal groups, with all its clone parties, act unrestrictedly and go directly to voters to corrupt them. Today, the Party of Change and its candidate for mayor of Balti Nicole Grigorishin will notify the CEC of the direct ties of the so-called independent candidate Arina Korshikova with the outlawed party.

“The Chance Party, besides Korshikova Arina, also has three reserve candidates. Also, Moroșan Maxim was deployed to the municipality of Balti by the criminal group Caramalac, on the instructions of the federal service. This is an extremely dubious man who is directly affiliated to Caramalac. I want to say that when I started to speak about the fact that the Caramalac group is involved in the local elections in Balti, Grigore Caramalac tried to contact me and to influence me as they needed. The same Moroșan tried to contact me to persuade me at any cost to abandon candidate Nicolae Grigorishin,” stated Ștefan Gligor.
