Work for topographers and designers in Moldova will become easier with the appearance of a new technology that allows to measure the environment in three-dimensional format. The novelty is brought to Chisinau by an Italian company, and the first object to be scanned in 3D was the monument to the medieval ruler Stefan cel Mare in the center of the city. The results were presented on Wednesday to Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. “This technology will make the topographers' work a lot easier and will allow designers to more easily prepare designs for the modernization of a certain area, be it a street, a park, a neighborhood or even and entire settlement”, said the Mayor. The City Hall will contract these services because they offer accurate data, said the mayor. “Whereas today the Designing Institute has to do all the measurements manually, measuring meter by meter all the roads, pavements and buildings, the length, the width, the angles and everything else, in the 3D scanning technology all these measurements will be done by a rotating camera that renders extremely precise data”, explained Dorin Chirtoaca.
