The National Horseracing and Modern Pentathlon School of Chisinau during June 16-18 is hosting the Horseracing Championship “Ștefan cel Mare” Cup, in the Training even. The competition is held in the capital city for the first time in the history of this sport in Moldova, being marked by the inauguration of a modern racetrack, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Education and Research.
The championship involves over 150 sports pairs, this being an absolute record since the founding of the equestrian performance sport in Moldova. Two teams of referees were constituted for the competitions that will be held in parallel on two sports grounds.
Sergiu Gurin, secretary of state of the Ministry of Education and Research, said the new modern racecourse is the perfect place for hosting the event. The Cup “Ştefan cel Mare” is a significant event for the Moldovan equestrian performance sport.
The championship is held in accordance with the international training rules. There were set up places for visitors, guests and fans. Entrance to the competition is free of charge for athletes and for visitors.
