Steaua manager anxious about Sheriff encounter
Ahead of the Europa League match between Steaua Bucuresti and Sheriff Tiraspol, the manager of the host side, Cristiano Bergodi, has told the Romanian press he regards Sheriff as a strong club and feels anxious about the Thursday's encounter.
“They are an experienced team, and a really good one, too. They play really great football and I assume it wouldn't be an easy game tomorrow. They don't compare with the rivals we had in the qualifiers. The fact that it's the first fixture in the group won't make it any easier for us, because of the pressure. It is very important for us to start with a victory. But I really have my fears about this encounter. Sheriff shouldn't be underestimated”, the Italian coach said.
Commenting on the Sheriff squad, Bergodi said: “I see they have many foreign players. There's first of all the Senegalese striker Diedhiou, whose speed is remarkable, and then captain Tarhnishvili, and of course right midfielder Balima”.
Steaua – Sheriff will kick of Thursday, 22:00, at the Ghencea stadium in Bucharest. Pro-TV Chisinau is expected to broadcast the event 'live', Info-Prim Neo reports.
