“Beneficiaries who have been on sick leave should know – the first five days of the period of temporary work incapacity caused by common illnesses or non-work-related incidents are paid by the employer, but no more than 15 cumulative days during a calendar year. The rest of the period is paid by the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS),” it is said in an informative video of the institution.
According to the legislation, the calculation and payment of allowances for temporary incapacity for work from the state social insurance budget is carried out by the CNAS on the basis of the information provided in the medical certificate transmitted through secure inter-systemic connections and authenticated by the electronic signature of the responsible person of healthcare providers.
