Statistics Bureau improves statistics processing “It is necessary that users realize the statistics does not relate to the situation of a family or a person, but to general state of things,” said on May 22 the university professor Ion Partachi, the head of the Economic Academy Chair of Statistics and Economic Forecasts, at the seminar “Improving social and agricultural statistics in Moldova,” Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the expert, the Moldovan statistics largely observes the European calculating methods. “It's not the problem. It would be good if the media contribute to educate the public, so that they correctly understand and use statistic data,” the professor pointed out. The seminar considered the results of implementing an eponymous project, unfolded from November 2001to June 2008. Oleg Cara, the deputy manager of the National Statistics Bureau, has said, during implementing the project, they carried out a range of partnership activities with the public authorities. The project has contributed to develop and improve methods of disseminating statistic data through good relationships with media, by opening the first statistics library in Moldova. The project value is over 18 million lei.
