Statements concerning bribery of two Communist councilors are speculations, Chirtoaca

Communists’ statements that Chisinau councilors Elena Danu and Petru Dontsov were given bribe in order to leave the Communist faction are speculations, with the PCRM being unable to recognize that they have a problem inside the party, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said in a program on Pro TV channel, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”The problem is that the people in the Communist Party are humiliated and made to become more and more aggressive. In fact, we see that only those we are at the limit of the mental integrity continue to work there and are in the front lines. The others are practically outside the party,” said the mayor. He stressed that the two councilors were not given money for voting together with the AEI councilors in the meetings of the Chisinau Municipal Council. According to him, while the Council’s activity had been blocked, discussions were held with Communist councilors and those who were ready to change their views were offered to take part in governance. Dorin Chirtoaca said that the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin mixes things up as he announced a sum initially and then another sum. “I would ask Vladimir Voronin how much he paid to Serebrian, Diacov, Rosca and the others who voted him in as President on April 4, 2005. They make speculations in order to shirk responsibility and hide the inability to keep the people together,” said the mayor. Last week, Vladimir Voronin said in a TV program that Petru Dontsov was paid €50,000 and will receive more money for every vote in favor of AEI councilors’ decisions. Elena Danu would have received an apartment.
