Point 4 of the law on the Regime of Stay for Foreigners in Moldova, which refers to penalties, may be reformulated, the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet told the press after the July 4 sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.
In its current form, the bill says the foreign citizens and stateless persons who enter Moldova via the Transnistrian region must register at migration points within 72 hours. Otherwise, they will be fined 200 to 400 lei.
“Point 4 of the law can be removed or reformulated. The matter will be discussed in the second reading. Instead of making a show, the Communists should better propose amendments to this point. But they chose the way of provocations,” said the Liberal-Democratic MP.
For their part, the Communist MPs accuse the parliamentary majority of wanting to make a border on the Nistru. They said they will make everything possible to prevent the adoption of this law as it is provoking and will lead to the worsening of the situation in Transnistria.
The debates on the bill were interrupted on July 4 after the Communist MPs blocked the Parliament’s rostrum. The Speaker announced a break of 10 minutes in order to calm things down. But the sitting continued with debates on the next bill, with Igor Corman providing no explanations.
