Statements about formation of center-left collation were taken out of context, PCRM

The Central Committee of the Communists Party (PCRM) recommended the journalists not to take statements out of context, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting NIT. The reaction comes after a number of media outlets on Sunday reported that the leaders of the PCRM and PDM reached the decision to form a center-right coalition. These statements were not made by Vladimir Voronin personally, the party's Central Committee has said, quoted by NIT. The leaders of the PCRM and PDM on Sunday had a meeting with the head of the Russian presidential administration Sergey Naryshkin. The mass media did not have access to the Russian Embassy in Chisinau, where the meeting was held. Only several Russian journalists and TV channels loyal to the PCRM were allowed to attend. Sergey Naryshkin stated for NIT that the Russian Federation values the relations with Moldova and is concerned about the political configuration flowing the November 28 early elections. He said that he came to Moldova to discuss with representatives of the political parties. “The discussions centered on the prospects of the Moldovan-Russian relations in the context of the statements that we made before the elections. We discussed the possible entry of Moldova into the customs union (Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan) and other subjects concerning the development of our strategic cooperation with Russia,” PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin told the NIT and the Russian press. “We discussed the Moldovan-Russian relations. The PDM considers that they must be strengthened and this is our traditional position. This partnership must be a long-term one and should meet the interests of both of the states and peoples,” the leader of the PDM Marian Lupu said after the meeting with Sergey Naryshkin.
