The state will pay 8.6 million lei to the athletes who won the four medals at the Paris Olympic Games. Freestyle wrestler Anastasia Nikita will get 2.6 million lei for the silver medal, IPN reports.

Judoka Denis Vieru and Adil Osmanov, who won the two bronze medals, will receive 2 million lei each. A similar amount will be obtained by canoeist Sergei Tarnovschi, who also won bronze at the Olympic Games.

Weightlifter Marin Robu (89 kg), who took 4th place at the Paris Olympics, will be awarded 600,000 lei, and canoeists Daniela Cociu - Maria Olărașu, who ranked 7th in canoe doubles, will receive 300,000 lei.

Cash prizes will also be collected by the coaches, assistant staff, doctors and masseurs of the medalists.

The next edition of the Summer Olympics will take place in 2028 in Los Angeles.
