The State University of Moldova will prepare specialists in biopharmaceutical chemistry, IPN reports, quoting a decision taken by the Government. The initiative was put forward by the Ministry of Education as the pharmaceutical industry is developing swiftly, while the invention of new medicines is based on fundamental knowledge in chemistry and biochemistry.
The graduates of the new specialty will be able to work as chemists in laboratories for analyzing medical preparations, research labs and labs for studying the efficiency of drugs, for testing and removing side effects at drug making companies.
Minister of Education Maia Sandu presented the program of cooperation in culture, education and science between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Greece for 2014-2016, which will be signed with a view to implementing the intergovernmental agreement signed in Athens in 2007. The program ensures the reciprocal provision of post-university and research scholarships, exchange of university lecturers, performance of studies and researches in the area of school curriculum, and organization of common activities in science, culture, youth and sport.
