State to subsidize purchase of juice production lines

The state aims to subsidize the purchase and installation of lines for making juices from apples, grapes and peaches from next year, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov said in a news conference, quoted by IPN.

“We have large producers of grapes, apples and peaches. When the harvest is high, the farmers are in a very difficult situation. For example, if the large quantity of harvested peaches is not sold in several days, the farmers can do nothing with the fruits,” said the minister, adding that if the farmers have processing lines, they will be able to make juices and jams. Vasile Bumacov specified that this idea was put forward by the producers.

The Agriculture Ministry also aims to subsidize the creation of a factory for processing and freezing potatoes and soybean. According to Vasile Bumacov, the soybean is exported from Moldova at the price of 6 lei per kilogram, while the poultry breeding companies import food from soybean for 11 lei per kilogram. That’s why an investor is needed to process the soybean in the country.

The Ministry will continue to support the installation of mini-factories for making wines of origin.
