The state will borrow €86 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank for erecting the Balti Regional Hospital. Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco said the costs associated with the building of the new medical institution are much higher, but the other part of costs will be covered with grant funding provided by the development partners, IPN reports.
The Cabinet on July 5 approved a draft decision on the initiation of negotiations on the draft framework loan agreement with the Council of Europe Development Bank. December 31, 2028 is the last disbursement day. The loan is repayable in 20 years.
The minister said the Balti Regional Hospital will be built on an area of 5 hectares and will be 38,000 square meters in area. It will have 340 beds for stationary healthcare and 78 beds for ambulatory healthcare. The final beneficiaries will be the people living in northern Moldova, who will have access to high-quality and safe services provided with state-of-the-art equipment. The lot on which the hospital will be erected is located close to Corlăteni village of Râșcani district.
