The state intends to finance 8,682 places in universities the next academic year. Of all the budget-funded places, 25% are intended for teacher training specialties. The Ministry of Education and Research drafted a Government decision on the admission plan, IPN reports.

The 2022 state order supports primarily Education Sciences (about 26% of all places), Engineering, Technologies and Architecture (19%), Information and Communication Technology (11%), Medicine (11%), Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, and Environmental Science (4%).

The nomenclature of professional training areas and of specialties in higher education was supplemented with three new Bachelor programs in arts – Multimedia Production, Game Design and Animation.

As the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “N. Testemițanu” this year plans to admit students to new master’s programs (Human Nutrition, Public Mental Health, Optometry and Visual Science), the number of budget-funded places for Health was raised by five places.

For Moldova to be able to honor the bilateral contracts signed with different countries, 106 budget-funded places will be earmarked for foreign students, 76 of which for undergraduate education and 30 for graduate education.
