Several state-owned public food enterprises previously will be passed into local public property of Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), when on Thursday, June 15, the local body accepted the transmission. Therefore, according to the decision, 4 state-owned public food enterprises: „Adolescenta”, „Bucuria-El”, „Liceist”, „Rascani-Sc” will be transmitted into municipality’s property. According to data of the Financial Management and Internal Audit Department, within these 4 enterprises, plus the municipal one „Piata Centrala”, are working 127 canteens and 12 buffets providing hot meals, where 33,700 pupils eat free of charge. The same sources note that transmitting those 4 enterprises to the municipality will facilitate providing hot meals for pupils in canteens of pre-university institutions more efficient. The state-owned public food enterprises have started to work in capital’s districts and suburbs of Chisinau since 1978, having the aim to provide pupils with food.
