The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission on January 13 extended the state of public health emergency in Moldova until February 15. The Commission’s meeting was chaired by acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the Commission ascertained that the epidemiological situation remains unfavorable. Moldova by January 10 has got 149,000 cases of COVID-19. As many as 3,139 persons succumbed to the disease, while 138,000 got cured. Of the almost 8,000 active cases, 2,500 persons have been hospitalized.

The nightclubs, discothèques and other recreational facilities of the kind remain closed. The working hours of restaurants and cafés remained 7am-10pm. The public eating places located inside filling stations, shopping centers and airports have the same working program.

The presence of spectators in cinema halls, concert halls and houses of culture, except for theaters, continues to be banned. The sports competitions without spectators staged in the open air and in closed places by the national sports federations accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research are resumed on January 16.

The Commission ordered that the public and private institutions should work according to a special program by involving only the strictly necessary personnel. The employees whose presence in the office is not mandatory should be allowed to work remotely. The ministries, State Chancellery and other central administrative authorities subordinated to the Government will work from 7:30am until 4am, with a lunch break between 12 noon and 12:30pm.

The persons possessing a certificate showing that they were administered a COVID-19 vaccine will be allowed to enter Moldova no matter what country they come from, without needing to complete the epidemiological form and the own responsibility statement concerning self-isolation for 14 days.
