State of public health emergency extended for two months

The state of public health emergency was extended for two months, until April 15, with the possibility of reviewing the given decision, as the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission decided on February 15 following the worsening of the epidemiological situation, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the number of cases of COVID-19 during the sixth week of this year increased compared with a week ago.

During the last 14 days, an orange alert covered the districts of Cahul, Căușeni, Dondușeni, Fălești, Rezina, Râșcani, Soroca, Ștefan Vodă, and Ungheni, while the other 29 districts were under a red alert.

The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission instituted additional restrictive measures so as to prevent the spread of Sars-Cov-2. One of them refers to shopping centers that will have to be closed on the weekend. The number of participants in festive events at public eating places was reduced from 50 to 20. The current regime of studies was maintained, but the online learning regime at education institutions could be restored if the situation worsens further.
