Sergey Puscuţa was named as head of the State Main Tax Inspectorate by an order of Minister of Finance Octavian Armasu. This took up his duties on February 22, IPN reports.
When presenting Sergey Puscuta to the Inspectorate’s staff, Octavian Armasu said that among the main objectives that need to be achieved are to ensure the efficient collection of incomes, to modernize the Tax Service and to improve the business climate.
Sergey Puscuta held the post of head of the State Main Tax Inspectorate in 2005-2008 too. Afterward, he was appointed as director of the Center for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption and was dismissed from this post the same year. In 2010 he was chosen as the president of the Union of Insurers of Moldova. During the last few years, Puscuta served as the director general of one of the biggest dairy producers “JLC”.
The Inspectorate’s former chief Ion Prisacaru was discharged three weeks ago, at the request of Prime Minister Pavel Filip. Then the Ministry of Finance announced that an internal inquiry will be carried out at the Inspectorate following the Premier’s statements about the excessive number of inspections performed at economic entities.
