State lost assets of two mining enterprises based in Ukraine, MP

The Republic of Moldova lost the assets of two state-owned enterprises of the extractive industry situated in Ukraine – the Crushed Stone Quarry in Pervomaisc and the Sand and Gravel Quarry in Cernăuți. This fact was confirmed by the Public Property Agency, stated PPPDA MP Alexandru Slusari.

At the request of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the exploitation of useful mineral resources, the Public Property Agency responded by a letter, referring to Moldova’s property based in Ukraine. “This is outrageous. These profitable entities had been robbed for years against the defying inaction of the competent state authorities. As far as I understood, no criminal proceedings were instituted in Moldova over these deeds. Evidently, this disaster wouldn’t have happened without upper level protection. I don’t know exactly who of the current MPs of the parliamentary majority are behind these criminal schemes, but I’m working on it now,” the MP posted on Facebook.

Alexandru Slusari said that in the next meeting of the commission of inquiry, he will ask to question the persons who served as ministers of agriculture in 2015-2018 and also the head of the Public Property Agency. He will also request the Prosecutor General’s Office to examine this case and will ask the commission to make approaches for legal action to be taken in this case.
