The Government authorized the Agency for Material Reserves to release 1 150 tonnes of food wheat from the state reserves to bakeries in Orhei (1 000 tonnes) and Taraclia (150 tonnes), Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov said the lent wheat will enable the given companies to maintain the prices of bread. On the other hand, the quality of wheat this year is much better than last year and it will be good to replenish the state reserves, said the minister. As many as 4 000 - 6 000 tonnes of wheat will be needed for internal consummation until the reaping is over. The necessary quantities of flour are being imported from Ukraine and Romania. The food wheat borrowed from the state reserves is to be returned by September 1, 2012.
