The state financial assistance for refugees and persons who benefit from humanitarian protection this year will be 675 lei a month or 15% of the average official salary, IPN reports, quoting a draft Government decision presented for public debates.
The given financial assistance is provided during at most six months following the examination of the person’s application. The money is disbursed from the allocations earmarked in the state budget for the Ministry of the Interior.
In 2014, there were submitted 36 applications for such support, 30 of which were approved, three are being examined, while three were rejected. The provision of assistance in 13 cases was stopped for the reason that the persons left Moldova.
By providing such support to refugees, Moldova fulfills its international commitments concerning asylum.
