The state buildings that do not meet the minimum requirements for energy performance will be renovated starting with 2024. This is provided in a bill that was endorsed by the Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration, IPN reports.
The authors of the document propose that the buildings of the central authorities that are over 250 square meters in area and do not meet the minimum energy performance standards will be annually renovated as from 2024. The costs were estimated at 27-32 million lei.
Under the bill, the Government will be obliged to make the necessary efforts to generate savings of at least 0.8% of the average value of final energy consumption between 2019 and 2022.
The legislative proposal also provides for the creation of the National Integrated System in the field of energy efficiency through which to monitor the use of energy and water and the costs incurred for public buildings.
The bill to amend the law on energy efficiency was drafted by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development and is to be examined by Parliament.
