The Parliament’s Standing Bureau on Wednesday will schedule the legislative body’s first plenary sitting of the autumn session and will agree its agenda. On the occasion of the start of the parliamentary session, Speaker Igor Grosu said that the Republic of Moldova is at the most responsible moment in its history and this year is a period during which the county must advance on the path of European integration, IPN reports.
“The year 2023 is a year in which we must irreversibly advance on our path of European integration – start the accession negotiations and develop Moldova. That’s why we are determined and will be making every effort to achieve this desideratum on a parliamentary line as we must have good laws, while the Moldovans should live as the Europeans do as they deserve it,” Igor Grosu stated, being quoted in a press release.
In the course of this week, a number of parliamentary commissions will have meetings to discuss the ratification of amendments to the strategic partnership, trade and cooperation agreement with the UK, initiatives on labeling of products with an energy impact, facilitation of development of energy infrastructure projects, amendments to the Road Transport Code and the Contravention Code, etc.
Under the Parliament’s Regulations, the legislative body has two ordinary sessions a year. The autumn session this year started on September 4.
