Reduction of the number of unit in the staff of the mayoralty and subdivisions of Chisinau Municipal Council from 829 to 740 units is stipulated by recent modifications operated by the government in the decision „On the structure and staff of mayoralties of the villages, towns (municipalities)”, approved in 2003. the government explains these modifications by optimising the structure and staff of the general mayor of municipality Chisinau and subdivisions of municipal council. Thus, in the staff of the mayor of Chisinau shall be dismissed 49 units, from 163 to 114. Other 40 will be dismissed within the subdivisions of municipal council. Dismissals will be done within the district offices as well. In the same time, certain department were changed the name, and the Architecture and Urbanism department was joined with Land Relations Department. Persons responsible within the Juridical Department said that the dismissal procedure would be done according to provisions of the Labour Code. Interim mayor of the capital, Vasile Ursu, who criticised on Monday meeting the activity of certain employees, said that selection of the staff would be done depending on the way they comply with their work commitments. According to interim secretary of the Municipal Council, Nicolae Manastarli, and lately „it decreased significantly the execution of addressing” by certain employees. In case when this situation will be tolerated further, it will lead to lack of self-critic feeling and decrease of the staff, Manastarli said, without nominating anyone.
