The General Public Amenities Division of Chisinau plans to start the repair of the square in memory of the victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster situated near Valea Trandafirilor St in Botanica district of Chisinau next week.
Contacted by IPN for details, the head of the Division’s Territorial Development and Cleanup Section Vasile Efros said the contractor that will execute the works was chosen and a contract is to be signed with this.
The General Public Amenities Division will place a layer of asphalt and the paving; will set up the lighting system and urban finitude – about 20 benches and garbage bins.
There will also be laid out a special place for a monument to the victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, which a public association undertook to erect.
The square will be open and everyone will have access.
The contractor will perform works to the value of 1.450 million lei. The money will be allocated from the municipal budget.
The works are to be completed at end-April.
