The Forestry Agency “Moldsilva” has launched the spring inspections in the national forest stock. These will last until the end of April and are designed to prevent the illicit felling of trees, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment said the inspections have been planned and include the examination of wooded strips and also of the plots rented for recreational purposes. Specialists are examining the anti-fire equipment, the forest stock cleanup works, the state of the roads and of the head offices of forest cantons as well as the release of wood, keeping of seeds, sowing in nurseries and planting of trees.
The autumn-winter tree felling will end by May 1. The regeneration and wooding works for the first half of the year will start in the period. Trees are to be planted on an area of 402 ha.
