Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the district heads and mayors of the suburban settlements to divide the municipality into sanitation areas and to agree action plans and the number of persons who will be involved in the cleanup that starts this week, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the February 27 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, the mayor said that civil society will conduct the cleanup campaign “Come on, Moldova!” this year as well. He proposed carrying out other similar activities that would involve students too. As last year, the main places that will be cleaned include the recreational areas and the parks. The authorities will provide the volunteers with gloves, sacks and other necessary tools. Last year, the ecological project “Come on, Moldova” included a nationwide cleanup campaign themed “Let’s clean the country in one day”. It was held on April 16.
