Three cleanup activities were performed last week on a number of streets in Chisinau. As many as 272 employees of cleanup services worked round-the-clock and collected 174 trucks of garbage, Info-Prim Neo reports. Eliferii Haruta, head of the Green Areas Managing Association, Monday said the cleanup campaign covered all the districts of the capital city. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that every deputy district head should supervise the cleanup works in a main park in Chisinau and asked calling on the people to become more actively involved in the cleaning activities. “Engage economic entities, enterprises and all those who can contribute. If we want a clean city, everyone should lend a hand,” he stated. He demanded imposing fines on the companies that do not take the garbage away in time and disciplinary penalties on the Chisinau City Hall employees responsible for this sector. As many as 39 trucks of garbage were collected last week. The cleanup activities in “Valea Morilor” Park will be resumed this week. Students will be involved in the cleanup process to clean the yard of the schools where they study and in the yard of a kindergarten.
