Spiridon Vangheli to children: Grow up faster and save nation

Octogenarian writer Spiridon Vangheli called on the children to read because mind is now needed a lot. “You need to grow up faster and to save the nation. We are at a crossroads and follow a path, but do not yet have the expected results,” the writer said in the International Children’s and Youth Book Fair that is held in Chisinau during May 11-14, IPN reports.

Spiridon Vangheli confessed that he receives many letters from children and is sometimes scolded by these. “A talk with children is always useful. Girls write to me and ask me: where are the girls in your books? I ultimately wrote a book about Olguta (“Children in the fetters of Siberia”) and girls wrote to me: Mister writer, you finally have a girl in your books, but you sent this to Siberia. But I didn’t send her to Siberia. The situation was as such,” said the writer. Spiridon Vangheli promised that one more book dedicated to girls will appear soon and will be named “Craita” (“Queen”).

The writer noted that our language was also taken to Siberia, together with nice people. Ion Creanga, to whom the current edition of the International Children’s and Youth Book Fair was dedicated, build a strong fortress and defended the language. “Creanga was our biggest school - the school of wisdom and beauty,” Spiridon Vangheli said in the event devoted to the 180th anniversary of Creanga’s birth.
