A Chisinau man, 24, died in a car crash on Monday as he was driving at high speeds along Bucovina Street. According to police accounts, the man drove his Skoda Octavia at high speed into a large puddle of rainwater, which slicked the tires, causing the car to drift off the roadway and hit a power pole. The force of the collision propelled the car 20 meters away. Arriving at the scene, the ambulance crew had no choice but to pronounce the man dead. On October 6, Chisinau Road Police recorded 64 traffic accidents that killed three persons.
