Speed bumps to be installed near schools
The capital’s schools that are close to roads should have speed bumps installed nearby. The proposal came from Chisinau Mayor’s Cabinet chief Lilian Carp, at the City Hall meeting, reports Info-Prim Neo.
Lilian Carp mentioned that speed bumps should be installed along with the road markings and relevant signs, near some institutions, such as Lyceums “Miguel de Cervantes”, “Minerva”, and “Principesa Natalia Dadiani”, because accidents happen there frequently.
According to Lilian Carp, the speed bumps will make drivers reduce their speed, thus making accidents avoidable. The two speed bumps that were installed at the intersection of streets Mihai Eminescu and 31 August have proven to be efficient, said the Mayor’s Cabinet chief.
Deputy Mayor Nistor Grozavu asked the relevant departments to elaborate the lists of lyceums and the placement blueprints for the speed bumps.
Efim Cheptanari, head of Exdrupo municipal enterprise, stated in this context that the road markings near education institutions are also being repainted.
