Premier Vlad Filat says that the speculations related to German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to Chisinau are regretable. In his opinion, these approaches are narrow-minded and have root in the authors’ personal frustrations, reports Info-Prim Neo. “The visit of the Chancellor is a public one, the discussions we will have are going to be public, moreover, the Federal Chancellor will hold a speech in front of the masses, for all the citizens of Moldova, in which she will talk about the European perspective of our country”, mentioned the Prime Minister. When asked if the Chancellor’s visit may contribute to the quickening of the Transnistrian settlement issue, Vlad Filat said that it is a much too complicated issue, but the subject will be approached during the talks. As for Yevgeny Shevchuk’s participation in the discussion, the Prime Minister said that the visit’s schedule has already been published, and if there are any changes, the Government will inform everyone about them. The Premier added that it is very important for the visit to be prepared at the highest level, since it is a very important event for Moldova. Angela Merkel is expected to arrive in Chisinau on August 22.
