Special regime at Chisinau Airport as from September 11

The Border Police, together with the authorities responsible for the airport, will step up their activities so as to streamline passenger flows and to exclude security risks given that a large number of pilgrims from Israel are to transit the Republic of Moldova during September 11-22, IPN reports.

According to the Border Police, access to the Chisinau International Airport as from September 11 will be strict for airport personnel and persons involved in crossborder traffic. Access to the airport will be allowed on the presentation of the ticket and travel documents that will be checked by representatives of the airport administration. According to the procedure, the passengers will continue with the check-in and will then go to the security and ID control area and will wait for the flight in the sterile zone.

To help the responsible authorities to ease road traffic, prevent traffic jams in front of the airport and streamline passenger flows, passengers are asked to show up at the airport at least three hours before the departure of their flight.

Additional measures will be taken to maintain the regime at the airport by increasing the number of border guards and control devices and by engaging a higher number of specialized dog teams.
