The special parliamentary commission suggested abrogating the vote by which a joint electoral system was introduced. The commission’s head, Liberal-Democratic MP Tudor Deliu said the bill was passed, promulgated and published in the Official Gazette in a hurry, IPN reports.
According to Deliu, the commission established that discussions should have been held with civil society and other institutions before voting on it. Also, by this bill a number of provisions concerning the adoption of laws and the rights of hundreds of thousands of citizens from Transnistria and abroad are violated.
The joint electoral system was instituted at the proposal of the Democratic Party by adopting amendments to the Election Code, which were supported by the Lib-Dems. The bill was passed on April 19. Later, the PLDM demanded creating a commission that would examine the impact of the new system, arguing the bill was adopted in a hurry and there were made many mistakes.
