Special agency to assess teaching programs of higher education establishments

The Ministry of Education suggested creating the National Quality Ensuring Agency that will assess the teaching programs of higher education institutions, including for doctoral and vocational studies. The Government accepted the proposal of Minister of Education Maia Sandu in its June 26 meeting, IPN reports.

Maia Sandu said that an institution of the kind was liquidated five years ago and now Moldova does not have an agency that would assess the teaching programs and would accredit the higher education establishments.

Currently, the universities are not accredited, but only authorized by the Ministry of Education. Maia Sandu considers that this is not enough. The new agency will provide services for money, but the prices haven’t been set yet.
