Speaker of National Assembly of Hungary to visit Moldova

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary László Kövér will pay a visit to the Republic of Moldova on September 20-22, IPN reports.

According to the Moldovan legislature’s press service, the program of the visit includes meetings with Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu, President Nicolae Timofti and Bishop of the Diocese of Chisinau of the Roman-Catholic Bishopric Anton Cosa. The Hungarian official will also discuss with Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici and head of the Moldovan Parliament’s Group of Friendship with Hungary Radu Mudreac. The visit will start with laying of flowers at the Memorial Complex “Eternity”.

On September 22, László Kövér will visit the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. In Comrat, the Hungarian official will confer with the Governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah, Chairman of the People’s Assembly Dmitry Konstantinov and mayor of Comrat municipality Sergey Anastasov, and will pay a visit to the State University of Comrat.

The visit will take place in connection with the Moldovan Parliament’s initiative to strengthen the parliamentary dialogue with European legislative bodies in the process of accelerating the implementation of the Association Agreement and Moldova’s rapprochement with the EU.
