Speaker Marian Lupu: In conditions of EU's expansion, we shall not allow for new division lines to appear in Europe

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (PA BSECO) can substantially influence the European policies to develop closer relationships with the European Union. The statement was made Monday by Moldovan Parliament's President,Marian Lupu, at the summit of the speakers from the Black Sea countries. In the conditions of the EU's expansion, we shall not allow for new lines to appear in Europe dividing the East and the West, the Moldovan speaker has added, Info-Prin Neo has learnt from a communique by the Parliament. The reunion takes place in Athens and joins participants from all those 12 member countries and from states with status of observers. Moldova is to take over the presidency of Parliamentary Assembly from Greece at the 31st plenary sitting of the organization, to take place on Wednesday, June 11. The PA joins 12 members from the Black Sea area. During 15 years, the organization has turned into a mechanism getting closer and the respective countries, offering a space for them to strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation, Marian Lupu has said. According to the speaker, the European integration is vital for Moldova. Marian Lupu emphasized the growing role of the National Parliaments in settling unresolved conflicts in the area, including the Transnistrian conflict from Moldova. The speakers are to adopt a Declaration on the 15th anniversary since the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization's consitution.
