Speaker Igor Grosu about leaving of Vlad Kulminski

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said he regrets Vlad Kulminski’s decision to quit as Deputy Prime Minster for Reintegration, but assured that it comes not to dissentions inside the governmental team, but to the privae life of the fomer Deputy Premier. He noted that no Cabinet resfhffle is expected in the near future, IPN reports.

Igor Grosu denied the existence of misunderstandings between Vlad Kulminski and the leaders of the ruling party, saying the former Deputy Premier will remain near the PAS team and will provide expertise in the reintegration sector.

“He has some personal reasons and I would not like to make them public. He will do it himself if he wants. We care about this person who made a great contribution in the reintegration sector. He will remain near us. As regards the Parliament’s decision to constitute a special commission, we together discussed the necessity of such a platform. He assured me that even if he took such a decision, he will remain a resource for us when we discuss subjects concerning the country’s reintegration,” Igor Grosu stated in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.

According to the Speaker, the Premier already has discussions with reintegration experts who can replace Vlad Kulminski. The governmental team is united and no hiring and firing are expected within it.

“Vlad Kulminski is a valuable specialist who helped us and intervened as many times as necessary. He managed the file of neutral-design license plates. He became actively involved and communicated with OSCE, Ukrainian and Russian partners. It does no go to anger. It is a personal problem related to the family. As the head of the family, he must be near the dear ones. Discussions are held with other persons with experience in the field. We do not plan any reshuffle,” stated Igor Grosu.

Vlad Kulminski tendered his resignation, invoking personal reasons. He formed part of the team of negotiators who held talks with Gazprom on the gas supply contract. He was named Deputy Prime Minster for Reintegration on August 6.
