Spatii Verzi wants more patrols on Chisinau beaches
Police and employees of the Spatii Verzi municipal enterprise, responsible for parks, will patrol the Chisinau beaches according to a new scheme, the deputy manager of the enterprise Galina Leahu has told Info-Prim Neo. Yet the police says they were not shown such a scheme and there is no need to involve one more entity in patrolling.
The scheme devised by Spatii Verzi refers to all the lakes and leisure places in Chisinau municipality. “Patrolling the risk areas is not the competence of the enterprise. But since the police do not know the dangerous places, our employees will accompany them every time when it will be necessary,” Galina Leahu said.
According to her, the joint patrolling is necessary to prevent the rising number of people drowning or catching diseases after bathing in lakes' water.
The Chisinau deputy commissar, Iacob Gumenita, has told Info-Prim Neo the police do not need additional schemes to plan their work. “More petrolling can't decrease the number of drowned people.”
According to preliminary statistics, 34 people drowned in Moldova since the beginning of the year, including 14 minors.
