The works to set up public lighting installations on Șoseaua Muncești St in Chisinau are close to an end. Almost 150 new poles and about 200 lighting bodies were installed on the section from Grădina Botanică St up to the intersection with Dacia Blvd, close to Sângera town.
Contacted by IPN, Vasile Chirilescu, senior mass media specialist of the Chisinau City Hall, said this is one of the biggest projects of the ten that envision the rehabilitation of public lighting on ten streets. Șoseaua Muncești St was chosen because there is heavy traffic there. Public illumination in the area will ensure greater safety for pedestrians and drivers.
The works cost the municipality 2.2 million lei and were launched at the start of last month. The authorities estimate they will be completed towards this weekend.
The costs for rehabilitating street lighting on the ten streets were estimated at 14 million lei.
