Prosecutors will demand extending the arrest warrant against four police officers from Soroca who were recently arrested on corruption charges. If they are found guilty, they will serve up to ten years in jail, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the National Anticorruption Center, the four policemen are accused of asking US$3,000 from a man for not holding him accountable for an alleged murder. The denouncer said the police officers threatened that he will stand trial for killing a homeless person, who actually died from poisoning and wasn’t killed.
The National Anticorruption Center so far this year arrested 12 police officers for involvement in different acts of corruption.
