Soroca District Hospital outfitted with modern equipment bought with Japanese funds

The Soroca District Hospital “A. Prisacari” received modern medical equipment purchased with Japanese funds. The ceremony to put the equipment into operation will take place on April 19. According to a press release of the Embassy of Japan in Moldova, the value of the grant provided by the Japanese Government is of US$ 104 million, IPN reports.

There were bought several types of diagnostic equipment such as automatic biochemistry analyzer, automatic hematology analyzer, digital ultrasound diagnostic system and semi-automatic biochemistry analyzer.

The new medical equipment will enable to diversify the range of diagnostic services, will increase the reliability of test results, will reduce the diagnosis waiting time and will facilitate the access of the people living in Soroca district to high-quality medical services. The new ultrasonography equipment will contribute to improving reproductive, maternal and newborn health.

The number of persons who will benefit from ultrasound diagnostic services after the implementation of the given project is expected to annually increase to 20,000.
