The capacities of ourism service providers and local authorities in Soroca (Moldova) and Iampol (Ukraine) will be strengthened within a transfrontier project implemented with EU support by the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” in partnership with the Soroca District Council and Iampol Council. The project will last for 18 months, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Institute “Viitorul” says the partnership agreement was signed on February 1, 2017. “Through this project, we hope to obtain constructive cooperation between the local authorities and rural tourism businesses in Soroca and Iampol districts. The Institute’s experts will think useful instruments and mechanisms for the service providers in rural tourism that will facilitate economic growth and will increase the attractiveness of regions,” said project manager Liubomir Chiriac.
Secretary of the Soroca District Council Stela Zabrian said the project will enable the truism service providers to learn to correctly manage their activity and will allow developing the tourism potential, while handicrafts will be able to promote their works.
The goal of the Moldova-Ukraine Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Program is to create a favorable environment for territorial cooperation programs along the borders between Moldova – Ukraine, Armenia – Georgia, Azerbaijan – Georgia, and Belarus – Ukraine, respecting the specific features of each border zone. The EU’s general contribution to the program is €12.5 million.
