11 singers will participate in the final stage of the national contest-festival “Moldova – My Motherland”, the second edition of which will take place on Saturday, June 28, Info-Prim Neo reports. Culture and Tourism Minister Artur Cozma told a news conference on Wednesday, June 25, the regulation of the contest changed. This year, not only the singers will be awarded, but also the composer and the authors of lyrics. According to Cozma, the contest “Moldova – Patria mea” cultivates the natural feeling of patriotism necessary in any society. The grand prix of the contest is 18,000 lei. The winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will get 9, 7 5 thousand lei. Five mentioned singers will get by 2,000 lei. The money will be equally shared between the composer, the lyrics writer and the singer. The awarded songs will be performed again on the Independence Day, on August 27. CDs with them will be sent to public libraries. Some CDs will be sold. The jury is composed of six members headed by composer Boris Dubasarschi. They have already provisionally selected 29 works, specially written for this contest. The first edition of the contest “Moldova – My Motherland” took place in 2007.
