Some vocational schools will become professional high schools
The professional secondary education will be concentrated in professional high school, says the draft Education Code that is to be approved soon by the Government. According to the Ministry of Education, the vocational schools will be transformed into professional high schools in accordance with the special regulations worked out under a Government Decision, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Minister of Education Mihail Shleahtitski, the professional high schools will be more attractive because they will issue the graduates with Baccalaureate diplomas, which offer more opportunities.
The professional schools that will not meet the transformation criteria will be adjusted. Some of the specialized schools will be merged. The teachers will not lose their posts as a result of the merger. They will be employed at the new, larger institutions.
Several high school classes will be opened at the best professional schools that were transformed, as an intermediary variant.
There are now two professional schools in Moldova that were opened on a trial basis.
