The intention to boycott the referendum on the dismissal of Dorin Chirtoaca from the post of mayor of Chisinau municipality announced by the Democratic Party and the European People’s Party is actually a game, said invitees of the talk show “Union Square” produced by Noroc TV channel, IPN reports.
Liberal MP Roman Botan said the boycott by the two parties is a game because their councilors on the Chisinau Municipal Council voted for holding the referendum on November 19 this year. “The PDM does a favor to the Socialists by distancing itself from these, in terms of image. This is yet impossible because everyone knows that the PDM and PSRM play a game and have a well-thought-out plan. The PSRM hopes it will gain control of the capital city after the next elections, but it is actually the PDM that intends to do so,” he stated.
Deputy chairman of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Mihai Popsoi said the party he represents does not want to take part in the dirty game started by the Plahotniuc-Dodon duo with the aim of gaining control of Chisinau. ”We do not believe at all in the sincerity of the Democratic Party,” stated the politician.
Political analyst Stefan Secareanu said no occasion should be offered to those who robbed the Republic of Moldova for distracting the people’s attention from the planned events. “Such scenarios concerning arrests and referendums are fabricated and well-planned with the intention of hiding all the wrongdoings that were and will be yet committed,” he noted.
The referendum to remove Dorin Chirtoaca from the mayoralty will take place on November 19, 2017.
