A number of candidates of the parties that made it into the Parliament after the November 30 election haven't declared their income and assets to the National Integrity Commission, although some of them own millions, IPN learned from a story published by Moldova Curata.
Pavel Filip, no. 6 on the Democrat's list and acting minister, declared 10 parcels of land, 9 of which he inherited. He has two houses, one of which hasn't been evaluated and the other valued at 900,000 lei. His family also has a garage and other real estate about which there aren't any details in the declaration. The Filips own a BMW X5 valued at 400,000 lei. In March 2013, when he filled in the declaration of assets, Pavel Filip had 6000 euros and 200,000 lei in bank. In June 2014, the Filips decided to sell a house of 68,7 square meters. Although in his declaration of assets the official valued the house at 50,000 euros, he put it for sale at 179,000 euros.
The Liberals' no. 6, Mihai Moldovanu, owns a home in Botanica sector, Chisinau, valued at 6 million lei. His family also owns two apartments and two poultry and animal farming businesses, as well as a private detective company. In 2013, CNI inspected his assets and asked the Prosecutor General's Office to charge him with false declaration of assets after they discovered that Moldovanu had two bank accounts he hadn't declared. However, the prosecutors rejected the requests. Last time Moldovanu was inspected was on December 24, 2013, when he was suspected of violating the rules of declaring income and assets.
Vladimir Vitiuc from Balti, PCRM's no. 8, owns 99% of Aurant LLC, a company specialized in cosmetic and hairdressing services, rental of real estate, retail sale of alcohol and other beverages, etc. Vitiuc also owns 10% of Solar Energeeng LLC. The company produces, installs, repairs and maintains special-use equipment.
