The Medicines and Medical Equipment Agency in July registered producer prices for over three hundred pharmaceuticals and concluded that they were on average by 2.53% lower than the previous July.
Also in July, the Agency’s relevant commission issued approvals for over one hundred pharmaceutical drugs – 50 were authorized for the first time and 55 got renewed authorizations. Of them, 25 are brand names, 43 are generics, 29 are combination drug products, and 7 are classified as ‘other’ (homeopathic, herbal, wellness and similar products).
70% of the drugs authorized in July are prescription-based and the remainder are in the over-the-counter category.
As concerns safety and quality control, the Agency reported that its specialized laboratory tested 3,415 series of pharmaceuticals and disqualified a grand total of two.
