A number of civil servants of the Chisinau administration will remain without title, but will keep their salaries. The Finance Division’s head Veronica Herta explained that some of the divisions now have more employees than initially planned and no money was budgeted for paying salaries to them. A part of the salaries are paid from the special fund that consists of money earned by every division from the services provided by them. The legislation says yet that these salary earners cannot have the status of civil servant, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Petru Gontea, who heads the Public Amenities Division, said that only 20 of the 62 employees of the Division will keep the title of public servant as the work plan provides that the Division will have 20 employees. The given provisions became outdated and the number of necessary employees was increased. Even with the 62 employees, the Division copes with the situation with difficulty.
Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said that a part of the employees of certain divisions are paid salaries from the municipal budget conventionally. But, according to the amendments to the legislation, these persons must be fired as the municipal budget sustains losses when salaries are paid to them. Thus, it was decided to withdraw the title of civil servant from these employees. But they will continue to receive the same salary and will enjoy other job-related benefits.
